As we all know, for a wedding, you want to be impeccable from head to toe… Right down to the tips of your nails! As I know that this is a crucial moment for many of my customers, I’ve decided to write an article aboutwedding nails, to give you my tips for the best wedding manicure. I hope you’ll find it inspiring for your big day.
Which manicure for a wedding?
If you’re the bride-to-be, I know you want to prepare everything down to the last detail. And I’m not going to lie, your hands are going to be under a lot of scrutiny on the big day. For example, when you exchange rings, show off your bouquet or greet all your guests. Here are my tips for a perfect wedding manicure.
Wedding nails: anticipate the big day with well-groomed hands
The first step to perfect hands on the wedding day is maintenance! Ideally, you should take care of your hands all year round. But here are some tips for the days leading up to the big day. If you’d like to take care of your hands at home, here are the essential steps to follow:
- Exfoliate your skin with a special hand scrub;
- Clean your nails with a nail brush and cuticle pusher;
- Moisturize your hands with a vegetable oil or hand cream.
If you want to go further, you can also take a bath or leave castor oil or sweet almond oil on your nails overnight. And why not do your utmost to strengthen your nails with dietary supplements?
Choosing the right wedding nail shape
Once your hands are well groomed, it’s time to get down to business. Now it’s time to choose the shape of your nails. And here, I’m not going to reinvent the wheel. The best wedding nail shape is the one that best suits the size of your fingers and the look of your nails. For rather short, thick fingers, the rounded shape works best to give the best overall view. For shorter but thinner fingers, the oval shape allows you to elongate your fingers in a very elegant way. And if you’ve got long, slender fingers, then you can have it all: oval, square, almond, ballerina… the choice is yours.
What nail color for a wedding?
If I had only one nail color to recommend for a wedding, it would be nude! Choosing a rather neutral color allows you to highlight your future wedding ring or other items you may be holding in your hands on the big day. The idea is to focus on your dress, hairstyle and make-up rather than your nail polish. The French Manicure also fits the bill perfectly – with an added touch of elegance. If possible, choose colors you’ve already worn to make sure they match your complexion. White nail polish is also always a good idea for a wedding. And why not add a few rhinestones for a flashy touch? You can also try red, if you want to be a little punchier. But again, opt for softer shades.
In any case, don’t neglect your manicure. You won’t want to worry about the state of your hands during your exchange of vows. If you can, call in an esthetician, or at least a concrete manicurist. A semi-permanent manicure is perfect to make sure it lasts all day. I hope this article helps you in your choice ofwedding nails!
